What Could be Causing Your Hair Loss?
In the UK alone 13.4 million men and women suffer from hair loss and thinning: 3 in 4 men and 1 in 4 women. Numerous factors could be the cause of your hair loss, from genetics to environmental factors. These include;
- Family history - called male/female pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia, it usually occurs as you age. This is the most common cause of hair loss
- Hormonal changes and medical conditions - hormone changes due to menopause, pregnancy, or thyroid problems. Medical conditions such as alopecia areata can also cause your hair to become patchy
- Medications - hair loss can be a side effect of certain drugs and treatments such as chemotherapy
- Stress and trauma - Stressful and traumatic events can trigger hair loss
- COVID – When the UK’s Institute of Trichologists (IoT), a professional association for those who treat hair and scalp disorders, surveyed its members over the summer, 79% said they had seen cases of “post-Covid hair loss” in their clinics. This is mainly attributed to the high temperatures and loss of appetite that are commonly associated with having COVID, which can cause hair to shed excessively between 4-6 weeks after the virus has started to resolve. However, mental stress alone can also lead to hair shedding. The good news is that, whether the pandemic induced hair loss is due to physical or emotional stress, most or all the hair is recoverable, particularly when treatments, such as the Collagenius Helmet, are used.
Whilst these factors may be unavoidable, it doesn’t mean there is nothing that can be done about hair loss.
Low Level Laser Therapy for Hair Loss
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) as a treatment for hair loss was discovered accidentally. In the Late 1960’s a Physician, Endre Mester, wanted to research the effect of LLLT on cancer. He found that LLLT didn’t cause cancer but instead caused improved hair regrowth in the shaved regions of his test subjects.
There have been numerous clinical studies to test the effectiveness of LLLT as a treatment for hair loss and to encourage new hair growth. One study found that in terms of hair count, both sexes and all areas of the scalp had substantial improvement with as much as 120% increased growth . A more recent study in 2014, found that after 16 weeks of treatment there was a mean average increase in hair growth of 35% amongst androgenetic alopecia sufferers.
Why LLLT improves hair growth still hasn’t been confirmed but it is presumed to work through a process known as photo-biostimulation (similar to the more commonly known photosynthesis which causes growth in plants). The light penetrates deep into the scalp increasing hair follicle activity at a cellular level, increasing ATP production, and improving growth factors.
The hair growth cycle consists of three phases: Growth (Anagen), Resting (Telogen) and Transition (Catagen). At any given time, 10-20% of your hair is in the Catagen or Telogen phase waiting to be shed and replaced by an active Anagen hair. LLLT works to stimulate anagen re-entry in resting (telogen) hair follicles, prolonging the length of the growth (anagen) phase and preventing the shedding phase (catagen) developing prematurely for results that last long term.
To summarise it has been found that LLLT is proven to improve the condition of a variety of non-scaring alopecia’s including, androgenic alopecia, areata alopecia and chemotherapy-induced alopecia, making it effective for hair growth in the majority of cases of hair loss.
The Most Effective Home-Use Hair Laser Device available in the UK- 180 Lasers!
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been clinically proven to have a positive effect on hair loss. LLLT was found to reduce signs of hair loss, improve current hair, and encourage new hair growth. Deep light penetration stimulates hair follicles into producing more hair.
As its name suggests, the Collagenius® Laser 180 Hair Growth Helmet has an incredible 180 laser diodes, make it the most effective LLLT hair growth device available. The nearest competitor has just 80 lasers, giving you less than half the coverage. The density of laser diodes ensures that every hair follicle is reached in order to achieve a completely full and thick head of hair.
The 180 high quality laser diodes emit red light at a wavelength of 650nm ± 10nm, clinically proven to increase hair count by 37% in 16 weeks.
Just like plants, in order to be strong and survive, your hair needs to have strong roots. The Collagenius® lasers reach deep into the scalp (5mm) to invigorate and stimulate the hair follicles at the very root. This will ensure your results and longer lasting, helping you to maintain a dense head of hair and prevent further hair loss.
Completely Safe and Side Effect Free
The use of lasers may make it sound dangerous, but the Collagenius® Hair Growth 180 Laser Helmet couldn’t be safer. The intensity of the lasers allows them to penetrate into the scalp but nothing more, you may feel a slight warming sensation but that is it. Other solutions to hair loss aren’t so body friendly, shampoos, foams and medication are known to have numerous adverse side effects including impotence and a lack of sex drive.
Although the powerful lasers are safe, they are still very bright. To protect your eyes the lasers in the Collagenius® Laser Helmet will only come on when the helmet is on your head. There are sensors on each corner of the helmet which will only be triggered as the helmet is placed on your head. As soon as you remove it from your head the treatment will pause, and the lasers will go off ensuring the bright light will never get in your eyes.
Easy to use and hands free
The Collagenius® helmet is super easy to use, turn it on, pop it on your head and your treatment will begin and the in-built timer will automatically switch off the helmet and notify you when the treatment is finished. If for any reason you need to pause the treatment, just take the helmet off your head and it will automatically pause, when you need to start again it just put the helmet back on and the treatment will resume at the point it was paused. The new powerful battery gives the helmet 4 hours running time between chargers and means the helmet is wire free, allowing you to freely move about and perform other tasks whilst you have your treatment, ensuring you always have the time do it! The helmet is lightweight and comfortable, perfect for using in the comfort of your home, relaxing on the sofa and watching TV.
Cost effective solution
If you have seen hair loss shampoos and foams then you may think that the cost of the hair helmet is a bit steep, however you have to think about the repeat cost of them, a year’s supply of hair loss shampoo can cost as much as £420. Not only is this more expensive than a Collagenius® Hair Growth 180 Laser Helmet, they nowhere near as effective at stimulating new hair growth, you are practically washing your money down the drain.
A more effective solution to hair loss shampoos is to take hair loss medication, but like hair loss shampoos they need to be purchased time and time again and will set you back as much as £444 a year, that’s a staggering £4,440 over 10 years, whereas your Collagenius® helmet will cost you far less.
Is the Collagenius® Hair Growth 180 Laser Helmet right for me?
The research into LLLT for hair loss has shown it is suitable for most cases in men and women with thinning hair and pattern baldness. There are systems that are used by doctors to classify stages of hair loss, Norwood Hamilton for men and Ludwig-Savin for women. The diagram below shows the types of hair loss that the Collagenius® Hair Growth 180 Laser Helmet will treat effectively.
Built from Clinical Studies
The Collagenius® Hair Growth 180 Laser Helmet was designed based on the latest laser technology and clinical studies. Here are a select few figures that helped shape the design of the Collagenius® Helmet:
