What is TENS pain relief?
TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. A TENS machine works by sending gentle electrical impulses through electrode pads placed on the skin near the source of pain.
These impulses help:
- Block pain signals from reaching the brain
- Encourage the body’s natural release of endorphins
- Provide localised pain relief exactly where you need it
TENS machines are commonly used for back pain, muscle pain, arthritis, sciatica, joint pain and period pain — as well as during labour.
