Who can benefit from using the VuVa Smooth Vaginal Dilator Set?
Those that have undergone radiation therapy
Radiation therapy to the pelvis can cause fibrosis, which leads to the formation of scar tissue in the vaginal walls. This not only results in reduced elasticity and a decrease of natural lubrication, but it may also cause shortening and narrowing of the vagina and a lack of blood flow to the area. In addition, the scarring of vaginal tissue results in adhesions, which can actually seal the sides of the vagina together. Ultimately, this leads to difficult, uncomfortable, and even painful sexual intercourse and vaginal examinations. Because of the reduced blood flow to the area, it also means the vaginal tissue is not receiving the essential nutrients required for it to heal naturally. Dilator therapy stimulates blood flow, helps to prevent scar tissue from forming, tones the tissue for increased elasticity and gradually increases the width and depth of the vagina.
Those that suffer with vaginismus
If you are experiencing vaginismus, you are by no means alone! However, it is still a subject which many women are uncomfortable talking about and, as such, they suffer in silence. Vaginismus refers to the involuntary muscle spasms that occur during sex and other vaginal penetration, which can lead to pain and, in some instances, render sexual intimacy impossible. This fear of penetration can have a huge impact in our relationships and, indeed, on our lives. In, addition, gynaecological exams can seem torturous. Dilator therapy is an excellent way of gradually increasing the capacity/size of the vagina and training the body to accept penetration, but at its own pace.
Those that have gone through the menopause
After menopause, the vagina becomes drier, less elastic (stretchy), narrower, and shorter. This can cause discomfort, and even pain, during sexual intercourse. And, for those that have always enjoyed an active sex life, a new lack of sexual intimacy can lead to relationship struggles. Dilator therapy provides a nonsurgical approach to restoring vaginal capacity/elasticity and alleviating sexual pain/discomfort.
Invented & patented by a pelvic pain sufferer, the VuVa Smooth Dilator Set has helped more than 45,000 women worldwide
The VuVa Smooth Vaginal Dilator Set comes complete with 5 dilators that graduate in size and have been ultrasonically sealed for hygiene purposes. Crafted from medical grade, BPA free polycarbonate plastic, each dilator features a tapered tip, and the set comes complete with a body safe, water-based lubricant for optimum comfort during insertion. Each dilator graduates 0.25 inches in diameter from size to size.
We recommend using your vaginal trainer for 20-30 minutes 1-2 times a day whilst lying down in a comfortable place and position. If you cannot manage that long, then gradually build up to it. Start with the smallest size and apply plenty of water-based lubricant to the vagina and dilator. Once you can insert the dilator completely into the vagina without discomfort, you should move on to the next size up. The ultimate goal is to insert the largest size without discomfort so that you are able to undergo comfortable pelvic examinations and regain sexual intimacy with your partner.
Durable, yet pliable, these expertly designed dilators follow the angle of the body and feature a flared base for safety and easy removal.
