Boost your sports performance with Solidea Active Energy Compression Socks

Solidea Active Energy Technological Unisex Socks Close Up

Solidea’s Active Energy Compression Socks are specifically designed to improve circulation and boost your performance during exercise and physical activity. Available in sizes small to XX-Large these sporty socks are suitable for both men and women of all ages. Their light graduated compression of 12/15 mmHg is great for toning and energising your legs, reducing cramp, preventing lactic acid build-up and soothing pain from venous insufficiency and oedemic swelling.

Made with a patented micromassage fabric, these knee-high Energy Socks activate blood circulation throughout the whole lower leg, whilst the reinforced weft absorbs shocks and vibrations caused by exercise. With extra padding throughout the foot area to minimize blisters and calluses, the Active Energy Compression Socks are perfect for high-impact sports such as football, hockey and running - or simply if you’re rushed off your feet all day!

Solidea’s three-dimensional wave knitted technology massages aching calves, while its transpiration properties ensure your feet always stay dry and comfortable throughout the most strenuous of activities. Designed with breathability in mind, the lightweight fabric helps your skin maintain the perfect temperature in all seasons without affecting its biological balance.

Solidea use silver ion technology throughout their compression garments, which helps kill germs and prevent the onset of bad odours - even after hours of wear. So unlike regular compression stockings, you don’t have to worry about taking them off in the changing rooms!

Made with a comfort-knit so soft they feel like a second skin, Solidea’s dynamic legwear will keep your feet feeling fantastic throughout the day. The extra-flexible fabric makes them easy to put on and take off, while their black design keeps them durable and discreet! Made using high-tech and innovative yarns that maintain extraordinary elasticity over time, you can wear these stockings time and time again, without them loosing thickness or pliancy.

Solidea’s Active Energy Socks are designed to increase the blood circulation and reduce fluid retention in your lower legs, in order to prevent the symptoms of venous insufficiency, as well as the appearance of unsightly and painful varicose veins. The result is more defined, less blemished and swollen legs, long after their initial usage.

Why do I need Compression Socks?

Although circulation naturally decreases as we get older, it’s important to deal with the symptoms of restricted blood flow as soon as they appear. 86% of the population will develop a form of venous disease at some point in their life, even though there are simple ways to minimise the risk of problems occurring.

Wearing compression stockings is one of the most effective ways you can reduce long term complications in the lower extremities and relieve symptoms of pre-existing conditions. They work by controlling the build-up of excess fluid that cause swelling or oedema in the legs and feet. By restricting surface veins and muscles where blood is likely to pool, compression increases arterial pressure and forces the blood through narrower circulatory channels, away from the swollen area and towards the heart.

How is Solidea different?

Solidea’s medical grade compression legwear is unique in that it provides ‘Graduated’ compression to the affected area, allowing the pressure to be distributed more effectively. Solidea’s stockings are designed to be tighter around the foot (where gravity naturally causes fluids to pool), with the material gradually loosening toward the top of the sock. This means you can get better circulation in your legs without the discomfort of bands cutting into your skin.

Why do I need Compression Socks?

Gradient compression stockings are recommended for people who are prone to or suffer from:

  • Blood clots
  • Lower limb oedema (swelling from fluid)
  • Prolonged periods of inactivity or sitting
  • Circulatory problems
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI)
  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Varicose veins
  • Lipodermatosclerosis
  • Tired aching legs
  • Spider/ thread veins
  • Lymphedema
  • Phlebitis
  • ‘Economy Class syndrome’ (ECS)
  • Feet swelling during pregnancy

Solidea’s compression-wear is graded according to its level of pressure (mmHg), so you can choose the right range for your needs. Here’s a quick tool for you to see how different compression ranges will help you:

  • 8/15mmHg: Very light compression for general relief of tired, aching legs.
  • 15/20mmHg: Mild compression for long periods of inactivity like traveling (lowered blood circulation), or during exercise or pregnancy (pressurised swelling).
  • 20/30mmHg: Relief for moderate to severe venous disorders, often prescribed to prevent ulcers, clotting and worsening of skin bulging.
  • 30/40mmHg: Relief from severe or chronic venous disorders and swelling, particularly following an episode of DVT or during convalescent periods (such as surgery in the affected area).

Definitely helps reduce swelling Review by RitA53
Product Rating
Has definitely helped to reduce the swelling / oedema in my legs and feet. I would recommend these and they are much more effective than those given to me on the NHS, but obviously cost more. (Posted on 2 July 2015)

Easy to wear, care for, and comfortable! Review by Ted
Product Rating
I've used these for years now and they are the best, most comfortable, easy to put on compression socks I've found. I've also recommended them to others. The active part of the item is because the weave helps move fluid. I have the leggings and the ankle socks in this fabric too and use the pair to mimic tights.
I turn them inside out to launder and put them in the delicate/hand wash cycle of our machine then let them air dry. Or hand wash when traveling. They dry quickly. (Posted on 11 May 2015)
