Pessaries are used as a first-line treatment in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and are designed to support your pelvic organs and help to keep them in the right place. They are also an effective tool for managing pelvic organ prolapse without surgery. Whilst pessaries cannot cure a pelvic organ prolapse, they help to manage and slow the progression of a prolapse by adding support to the vagina and increasing the tightness of the muscles and tissues of the pelvis.
This style of pessary is designed for women with mild prolapse complicated by cystocele and is designed to support the pelvic organs, particularly the bladder, to help relieve the uncomfortable and distressing symptoms of prolapse and also to aid with continence.
The folding design means that insertion and removal is easy, and the soft silicone construction means that it's comfortable to wear every day.
Please note: initial pessary fitting and sizing should be carried out by a trained healthcare professional.
