Standing Aid for Those with Mobility Issues
For those who struggle to stand, whether due to ageing, injury or physical disability, basic day to day tasks can feel almost impossible. The basic human right to nip to the loo when nature calls is taken away and they become dependent on someone to help them. For family carers who live with a person of limited mobility, this can cause them constant strain and put pressure on their back as they try to lift their loved one up off their sofa, bed, or toilet and walk them to wherever they need to be in the home. It can even prove impossible in older couples where both partners may be experiencing physical deficits in different ways. The result? Often, one half of the couple is taken into care, splitting up those who have been together for a lifetime and causing immeasurable distress.
A Standing Aid Can Help Take the Weight and Strain, Making Life Easier and Happier for Everyone
This brilliantly designed standing aid has 2 sets of wheels for easy manoeuvrability for the controller. It wheels up to the feet of the user and they (or their carer) place their feet of the foot pads which have grippers for added safety. The user can then pull themselves up using the strong metal handle which is adjustable to get the perfect height for the user. The carer will need to ensure they hold the handle steadily in place whilst the user pulls themselves up. Alternatively, a second carer may need to stand next to or behind the user for support as they rise. Once safely positioned, the rota stand can be wheeled to another room in the home such as the bathroom, dining room or lounge, where the user can then make themselves comfortable in a chair or use the toilet with dignity.
Carers Sustain Injuries Through Heavy Lifting – Don’t Let This Happen to You!
So many hundreds of carers strain their bodies every single day trying to lift and support their loved ones or, in a professional capacity, their clients. The Rota stand takes the strain out of manoeuvring an individual from one place to another, and helps the user feel much more dignified and in control at a time in their lives when they need and deserve it the most.
Let the Rota Stand take the strain so you don’t have to, get yours today.
Please be advised that the maximum user weight for this device is 160kg/25st. If the person you take care of is above this weight, we would recommend the Rota Stand Solo which has been specially designed for use with heavier or larger patients. The Rota Stand Solo has an additional support bar on the base that counterbalances larger weights to support a heavier user pulling themselves up.
