Don’t let Achilles tendonitis stop you; stop the pain instead with Cryoten.
50% of runners experience pain, stiffness and inflammation in their Achilles tendon as a result of the repetitive impact of running on hard surfaces. The stress on the calf muscle with each stride causes a strain on the Achilles and results in mild tears in the tendon. This is known as Achilles tendonitis.
For some people the pain associated with Achilles tendonitis can be incredibly painful and debilitating. The best treatment for relieving this acute pain and inflammation is by using ice packs on the area for 40-50 minutes. This is not always convenient, as the user is restricted to sitting down and holding the ice pack to their heel rather than getting up and about as the cold therapy relieves the pain.
Cryoten Thermobag Cooling Achilles Relief is cleverly designed to alleviate this problem. It consists of an ice pack which is ergonomically crafted to fit perfectly around the anatomical shape of the Achilles tendon. The pack sits inside an elasticated fabric pocket which prevents it from causing discomfort as it would when sitting directly next to the skin. The user then places the ice pack and pocket inside their sock next to their Achilles tendon, where the cold therapy works to soothe and relieve pain in the area.
This design allows the user to walk around and continue with their usual activities without having to forfeit cold therapy treatment. Plus, since the ice pack cradles the Achilles tendon so effectively the temperature can be conducted more successfully deep into the tissues directly around the painful area, which makes treatment more successful.
Two ice packs are included with the Cryoten, meaning that you can apply a second treatment directly after the first without having to wait for the ice pack to freeze. A thermic bag is included which helps to keep the ice packs chilled for longer when removed from the freezer. This allows you to take Cryoten with you wherever you go to treat tendonitis pain as soon as it strikes.
Cryoten will remain ice cold for up to 20 minutes when applied to the Achilles tendon. One 20 minute application will work as a prevention against pain – so you could try using it before a workout or just after before acute pain kicks in. Use two 20 minute applications back to back to soothe more severe pain and inflammation, but do not use for longer than one hour without a break.
