This fully approved RNIB Talking Watch is suitable for blind or partially sighted people, or for those who need timed voiding.
It is radio-controlled and recorded by the Royal Institute for Blind People to speak the time clearly and with split-second accuracy. It even automatically updates between summer and winter time, so there’s no need to manual re-programme it which is ideal for blind or partially sighted people.
This watch has an optional function to announce the time on an hourly basis. This can be used for timed voiding – when someone who suffers from incontinence needs a reminder each hour to go to the loo in order to prevent accidents.
This is powered by a rechargeable, eco-friendly solar battery, and has a clever ‘sleep’ function which stop the hands working when it is placed in a dark drawer or box in order to conserve energy. An internal clock keeps time during sleep mode and automatically resets the hands when the watch is next in use to ensure it displays the correct time. This watch will never need a replacement battery.
This watch has a clear display with large, easy-to-read numbers which is important for partially sighted people. It has an expandable bracelet strap so can easily be slipped over the hand and onto the wrist with no need to struggle with fiddly fastenings.
