You may have tried memory foam pillows, but they can be just as bad as they are very firm in a way that can be uncomfortable and often don’t hold their shape that well.

Lanaform have a novel solution to all your insomniac woes; their amazing, water-filled pillow! At first glance it looks like a standard white cushion, but inside is a reservoir that holds up to 5 litres of water. The genius idea behind this is that the solid yet flowing properties of water mean that it will mould around your head and neck perfectly without ever losing its shape, adjusting instantly to any movements you make. Sleeping on this pillow feels like heaven as it fits the unique contours of your body like nothing else.

You can create your ideal pillow by adjusting the level of water, anywhere from 2 to 5 litres for different levels of firmness. The Aqua Pillow comes with a special pouring spout that makes filling it easy and spill-free. Just unscrew the reservoir cap, screw on the spout and pour in your desired quantity of water; 2 litres for soft, 3 for medium and 4-5 for a firm pillow. Press out the excess air then seal again. You can leave the water in your pillow for up to 3 months and change the amount in it whenever you want to adjust the firmness. I put 3 litres of water into the pillow and it's perfect for me, soft and a low loft just the way I like it. I will probably take this pillow on holiday since you can empty it out and roll it up.

Just had my first nights sleep using this pillow and I found it really comfortable.....after years of waking up with neck pain I found myself waking up less achy this morning. I used around 3 litres of water and this was perfect for me ....it supports your neck and has a gentle cooling effect which I like. Im happy I bought this one after looking at so many different types online. Its also easy to fill up the water in it and add more/less as and when you need to.

Disadvantages

Haven't seen any yet.

Huge disappointment

Advantages

Can alter the amount of water to suit firmness.

Disadvantages

Not firm enough, even when filled to capacity. Very heavy when filled to full capacity. Pillow can get wet when filling.

I am so disappointed with this pillow. I bought this after lots of research and reading all the reviews, I have been struggling to find a pillow that gave me the right support I required, I tend to go for memory foam however, recently, I have suffered some damage to my spinal cord which has now completely changed how I need to position myself/sleep and the memory foam no longer works as I need it to and anything else just is not supportive enough. After reading up on this pillow, I made the decision to splash out (no pun intended) on it thinking that I would be able to adjust it to get just the right support by adding or removing water. I had very high hopes for this which were dashed very quickly once I put the water in. It was clear immediately, after filling it to the maximum 5 litres, that this would not be firm enough. It does not fill as described, in terms of firmness, I would say anything under 4 litres is soft support and that a 5 is more like medium support, I would imagine to get it to firm would need at least 8 litres of not 10. I tried this pillow for several nights hoping that I would maybe get used it, but I couldn't, I could not get comfortable, it caused pains in my neck from my head being at such a low angle and it caused pins and needles in the arm that I was not laying on (suggesting that the angle caused something to pinch or trap). I am absolutely gutted as it is not a cheap pillow and now it is just sat in the cupboard not being used. I would only recommend this pillow if you prefer soft to (light) medium support or if you're happy to use with an additional pillow (which defeats the point really), otherwise, I would stay well clear.

Advantages

Great water pillow, Been using a week now and no more neck complaints and I've sleep wonderfully. Since it's a heavy pillow it does not move around the bed which is a plus. Also good if like me you like to put hand under pillow while sleeping, its so adapts to this I love it. Definitely one of the best pillows I have bought ever. Time will tell but to be honest hard to see how it would lose its shape, just add water lol
