Look forward to waking up as much as you look forward to falling asleep with the Lumie Bodyclock Starter 30
Do you dread that alarm clock bleep when you go to bed night? Are you regularly finding that you’re waking up early hours in the morning and struggling to go back to sleep? Or are you one of those who find it difficult to go to sleep that you lay there thinking and calculating “if I fall asleep now… I’ll get four hours sleep...”
These could be signs of an irregular sleeping/waking pattern. Your melatonin and cortisol (your get up and go) hormones may be abnormal to which your pattern is jerky. Believe it or not, the Lumie lamps may give you the help that you’ve been searching for.
The Lumie Bodyclock Starter 30 improves the get-up-and-go hormones and how they are processed; the cortisol (otherwise known as the stress hormone), the one that wakes you up and helps you get a move on and the melatonin, the one that makes you drift away into a peaceful sleep. These hormones are often sporadic in teenagers as they go through adolescence; they stay up late and wake up even later.
Lumie Starter 30 - the perfect first wak-up or dawn simulator light for waking up rested and refreshed to start the day! Now that is refreshing isn't it!
When you see a Good Housekeeping or Good Housekeeping Institute logo on a product, you know it's been rigorously tested and passed by their expert team.
The Lumie light is a dawn simulator that allows you to wake up naturally; the slow, gentle light gradually brightens imitating the sunrise, so even on those dull and grey mornings that make you want to stay in bed all day; you can wake up with the sunrise in your very own bedroom. No more of those waking up groans and covering your eyes! If you really want to practice the method of the early bird, you can wake up to sounds of a dawn chorus or a rooster call; a more delightful way to rise in the morning! But if you’d rather wake up to a more ordinary wake up call, a radio or beep can be used.
Not only is the Lumie light a dawn simulator; it also imitates a sunset too. The sunset feature is applied so you can unwind and drift off just as naturally as you did that morning. With the sunset function, it illuminates a dewy orange glow that slowly fades out to turn off. With this function you can choose how long you want the light to gradually turn off (this can also be applied for the waking setting). Just like how you can choose sounds to wake up to, you can also choose either the gentle sounds of ocean waves or a white noise to drown out any background noise that may disturb your slumber.
Many people may suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a depression that occurs during the dull and dreary months. Using the Lumie lights and SAD lamps, you can tackle the symptoms of SAD just by waking up with a gentle light to help you boost those hormones to wake you up.
Mother Nature intended us to wake up with the sunrise and fall asleep when it’s dark – let’s keep it that way.
What do you get - apart from a great nights sleep and an invigorating wake up call with the Lumie Bodyclock Starter 30?
- Sunrise to wake you naturally - 30-minute
- Sunset to help you sleep and relax naturally - 30-minute fading sunset

- Works for me, husband sceptic. Review by Carole
I have already decided that when October comes this year I will be buying a sad lamp to go with this, purely because I need all the help I can get - maybe I need a divorce rather than a sad lamp who knows! (Posted on 5 September 2014)
- Replaced mobile alarm, love this Review by Tolly

- Works, but wish I'd got one with more bells & whistles Review by Mae
Thank you for your email.
The amount of lux produced by our Bodyclock range is minimal (no more than a couple of hundred).
These units work completely differently to our SAD lightbox range which emit 10,000 lux and help treat all symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder.
The importance of the Bodyclock is the gradual increase and decrease of light in the morning/evening, not the actual light (and amount of lux) that it emits.
I hope this helps. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Can you chose to turn off the natural light function and just use sound if you want?
What different kinds of wake up sounds are there, any nature sounds?
The light is dimmable on this model, but there are no any sounds. The only unit that has sounds is the Lumie Active 250 Wake Up Alarm Clock http://www.stressnomore.co.uk/lumie-bodyclock-active-250-91959.html you have the choice between a Dawn chorus or rooster call sounds to enhance your sunrise
