If you have sensitive skin and have found that most personal lubricants rub you up the wrong way, opt for something that’s kinder to your body.
Studies have found that personal lubricants containing glycerin tend to break down to sugars and promote yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis, both of which can cause severe discomfort. In order to maintain a healthy pH balance and protect your intimate area from infection you should use glycerin-free lubricants.
Talking to the Daily Mail about the findings, obstetrics and gynaecology specialist Dr Mary Marnach recommended Astroglide glycerin-free lubricants. She also advised that you should also avoid fragranced products:
“Many strong chemicals and perfumes can have a direct irritant effect on the sensitive mucosal lining as well as the relatively thin and delicate skin, causing dermatitis or inflammation.”
So it’s really important to take find a lubricant that is gentle to your skin and doesn’t contain harsh chemicals that will cause irritation. Astroglide Sensitive is specially formulated for this purpose. It’s free from Glycerin, Parabens, Fragrance and Alcohol, and rich in natural botanical ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Vitamin E. All of this, and it still has the gorgeous slick texture of normal Astroglide lubricants.
Whether you use it in the bedroom or you use it daily to beat vaginal dryness, Astroglide Sensitive Skin Gel is the perfect lube to keep delicate skin healthy.
