Distinguishing Stress and Urge Incontinence - Easy Guide

Pelvic Exercises and Kegels at StressNoMore.co.uk for bladder control and comfort.
Stress and urge incontinence are not diagnoses but rather symptom complexes that the patient reports to the healthcare practitioner. A diagnosis identifies the causes of urinary incontinence and is made by demonstrating objective evidence of urine loss.

Distinguishing between stress incontinence and urge incontinenece is vital because therapy particularly is based on an accurate diagnosis of the cause of incontinence.

Simple test to determine your symptoms

This is simple guide for diagnosing the type of incontinence developed by Kauppila & Kujansuu, as used by healthcare practitioners.

All that is needed is to give the indicated points to each question and total them. A score below 7 shows stress incontinence. Above 7 indicates treatment in the URGE electrostimulation mode when using stim devices such as the Kegel8 - Results Within Weeks, Neurotrac Pelvitone or the Neurotrac Incontinence, set in the URGE programme. (PO2) Neurotrac Incontinence, or the Neurotrac Pelvitone.
